NO INVASIVES
IN MY BACK YARD

We need you to start in your "backyard" follow these three steps to rid your home or property of invasive plants that can spread into our riparian, inland, and coastal habitats. You can make a difference whether you rent, are part of home owners association (HOA) , or belong to a local church or service club.

Property Owners, Homeowners, and Renters

 

IDENTIFY: Find out which plants in your property are invasive. Learn about the most problematic plants (See our brochures and flyers and review our list of invasive plants.)

REMOVE: Pull out and discard invasive into the trash bins. Do not mulch. Instructions on removing invasive plants are available here. REPLANT: Select wisely and replant native or non-invasive plants. Choose from a list of alternative plants found in the brochure and approved by the California Invasive Plant Council.

IDENTIFY INVASIVES IN A LOCAL AREA: Locate an invasive infested area in your town, neighborhood, service area. Identify the owner and obtain permission to remove invasive plants. contact the owners .
ADOPT THE AREA: Recruit volunteers to pull out and discard invasive plants. into the trash bins. Do not mulch. Instructions on removing invasive plants are available here. What else can I do?

Ask your family, friends and neighbors to remove invasive plants from their property. Ask your teacher or fellow students to participate in an invasive removal project. Read how local grade school and teachers helped rid our watershed of invasive plants!
